Under 11's Myrtle Park 0 Silsden 7

After last week's defeat at Silsden, Myrtle Park were unfortunate to be facing a Silsden side again who have really come into a purple patch of form, winning their last 4 games. The visitors started where they had left off and were soon in front. Nathan Town opened the scoring with a great individual goal, weaving his way through the area before dispatching the ball into the corner. Town doubled the lead shortly after when a rasping shot was saved by Myrtle Park's keeper, but the striker's instinct meant he was first to react, following up to place the loose ball into the net. Earlier in the season Silsden had been lacking a cutting edge up front, but presently have a nice selection problem with three strikers all scoring regularly. Jack Watkinson usually plays as a forward, but had a good game in midfield and scored with an excellent strike into the top corner. Tommy Snowden also added to the score line with his own brace, but perhaps arguably the best goal of the half was scored by winger Alex Booton who's blasted shot from distance looped over the keeper into the goal.

Being six in front at the break allowed Silsden to experiment, moving players out of their usual positions. Whilst this dramatically reduced the number of goal scoring opportunities, Myrtle Park looked unlikely to reduce the deficit. In a much closer second half the only goal came with 2 minutes to go. Ben Sugden had scored a superb goal at home in the reverse fixture and again capped a great performance with an almost identical finish. He connected with the ball on the edge of the area, lifting it over the keeper, who could do nothing to stop the goal. Final score 7 - 0, Nathan Town was awarded man of the match.
